Innovate to Thrive

Consulting with Holly G. Green

There’s a Constant Need to Innovate Today

Are you Taking Advantage of the Opportunities?

It sounds good. But how do you find the time and energy to innovate when most days, you are busy just doing?  And, how do you engage your entire organization to actively incorporate new thinking, new products, and more effective ways of working... including getting more done with less?

What does innovation look like at work today and do you need to spend millions for a research and development department to come up with the next great product or service?

Today innovation needs to be about:

  • Challenging the ways we do things even when it has always worked well
  • Continually creating new products, services, and ideas that have value for stakeholders
  • Trying different and novel ways to deal with ongoing challenges
  • Constantly seeking and implementing new and better ways to achieve results

Innovation is More than Brainstorming or Idea Generation

To be truly innovative, you have to DO something different.  And whatever you do must have value for at least one of your stakeholder groups (employees, customers, suppliers, partners, etc.).

As organizations experience success, emphasis tends to shift to maintaining the success versus considering new opportunities/products/processes.  Developing the skills and competencies required for innovation contribute to:

  • A relentless improvement mentality
  • Increased awareness of opportunities and possibilities for products and efficiencies
  • Further exploration and understanding of unmet customer needs
  • Greater clarity on success over the long term
  • Higher standards and overall performance
  • More engaged workforce

Becoming Strategically Agile is not for the timid or the weak! Be prepared to be prodded, poked, and provoked toward higher levels of success. We’ll enlist your brain and support you in being the very best at what you do.

Adult Brains are Not Intuitively Good at Innovation

We are built to travel the same pathways again and again. It worked well when things were relatively stable, but it gets in our way in a hyper-changing world. We can learn to leverage the power of our brain by pausing every now and then to:

  • Conduct “What if”…thinking
  • Balance the big picture with the details
  • Consider different perspectives and angles
  • Ask questions to trigger new ways of perceiving
  • Seek the second ‘right’ answer
  • Challenge assumptions

To achieve value creation from innovation, there must be a direct link to strategy; a culture or context for innovation; and employees must have the appropriate skills and abilities to discover, evaluate, and execute on the best ideas.

Don’t cross your fingers and hope your organization is innovative. Holly G. Green, a globally recognized business consultant and behavioral scientist, will support you in determining and building the innovation strategy, skills ,and competencies required to enable your ongoing success. You’ll get guidance, tools, and hands on support to bring innovation to life in a sustainable, scale-able way so your organization constantly thinks differently to win.
